Purpose
Laraware Welfare Foundation ("LWF") expects all those who represent or work with the Foundation โ trustees, directors, employees, volunteers, interns, and contractors โ to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and compassion. This Code of Conduct defines those standards and the behaviour expected from everyone associated with LWF.
Core Values
- Integrity: Be honest and transparent in all dealings โ with beneficiaries, donors, colleagues, and regulators.
- Compassion: Treat every beneficiary with dignity, empathy, and respect regardless of background or circumstances.
- Accountability: Take responsibility for your actions. Report errors promptly. Do not conceal mistakes.
- Inclusivity: Treat all people equally regardless of gender, religion, caste, ethnicity, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
- Excellence: Strive for the highest quality in everything you do for the Foundation and the communities it serves.
Professional Conduct
- Carry out your duties diligently and to the best of your ability.
- Follow all applicable laws and Foundation policies at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of beneficiary information, donor data, and internal Foundation matters.
- Use Foundation resources (funds, equipment, vehicles, data) only for authorised purposes.
- Avoid any action that could bring the Foundation into disrepute.
Conflict of Interest
You must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest โ personal, financial, or professional โ to the Grievance Officer or a Director as soon as it arises. You should not participate in any decision in which you have a personal interest. Examples include:
- Awarding a contract to a company in which you or a family member has a stake
- Accepting gifts, hospitality, or benefits from donors, vendors, or beneficiaries beyond nominal value (above โน500)
- Using Foundation contacts or information for personal gain
Use of Social Media and Public Communications
- Do not make public statements on behalf of LWF without authorisation.
- Do not post photos or personal information of beneficiaries on personal social media without explicit consent.
- Be respectful and constructive in any online discussions involving the Foundation.
Respect in the Workplace
- LWF maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, bullying, discrimination, or violence.
- All persons are entitled to a safe, respectful, and professional working environment.
- Sexual harassment is governed separately under our POSH Policy.
Child Safeguarding
Any person working with children through LWF programmes must adhere strictly to the Child Safeguarding Policy. Any concern about the welfare or safety of a child must be reported immediately.
Financial Integrity
- Never solicit, offer, or accept bribes or kickbacks.
- All expenses must be supported by valid bills/receipts and approved by the appropriate authority.
- Misappropriation of funds will result in immediate termination and legal action.
Reporting Violations

Consequences of Violations
Violations of this Code may result in disciplinary action ranging from a formal warning to suspension, termination of engagement, or referral to law enforcement, depending on the severity of the violation.
Acknowledgement
All employees and volunteers are required to sign an acknowledgement confirming they have read and understood this Code of Conduct at the time of joining and annually thereafter.
Review
This Code of Conduct will be reviewed annually by the Board of Directors.
